    Presentation:

    The course is addressed to students who want to gain (in-depth) knowledge on  Information Technologies , as well as their application to business. 

    The aim of this subject is for students to  develop an understanding of the role and application of Information Systems (IS) and Information Technology (IT) in the management and control of organizations. 

    It provides the basis for the further development of professional careers such as managers, advisors, assurance providers as well as designers of IS and IT. 

    Learning Outcomes:

    At the end of the course students will be able to:

    - understand how to design Information Systems from a theoretical perspective.

    - establish all elements required for the audit and the safety of Information systems.

    - have an understanding of new technologies, information system applications, and their impact on business models and managerial decision making in an exciting and interactive manner.

    - build a firm foundation in business related to Information Technology in order to develop a successful career in many different business fields. They may find themselves formulating strategic plans in executive suites, designing Information Systems to optimize their organizations operations, raising the business activities on the Web, and so on.

    - enhance their daily work by applying Information Technology, or (new) professional tools and resources to gain awareness and build upon skills.

    - work together with IT specialists

    - develop problem solving through targeted analysis.

    Course Methodology:

    La metodología Didáctica de CEPADE, es Propia y Única. PPG: Práctica, Participativa, y Global.

    Práctica: Se basa en el método del caso.
    Participativa: El conocimiento de cada uno de los alumnos se contrasta con los de resto de participantes haciendo el aprendizaje colaborativo a través del Campus Virtual.
    Global: Ese aprendizaje Participativo, no sólo se comparte y adquiere con alumnos de España sino también con alumnos de hasta 40 países (aproximadamente el 40% de los alumnos son internacionales).

    En el Campus virtual de CEPADE un Profesor-Tutor, mantiene la documentación actualizada, resuelve las dudas, guía el aprendizaje y realiza la evaluación.

    Both the whole course documentation and the monitoring of the tutorials along with the final exam will be conducted in English. The level required is Advanced.

    Participants will be informed about the materials as well as the activities designed for this course online.

    Several practical study cases will also be available to be discussed on the forum.

    Students should spend their time focusing on learning tasks such as:

    - Practical assignments.

    - Discussions on examples, questions, viewpoints and ideas taken from the Forum.

    - Answering questions raised after reading study cases.

    Finally, students need to demonstrate sufficient knowledge relating to technology and Information Systems to effectively contribute to the formulation of an information technology strategy.

    Título: MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

    Documentation:

    Exercises: They are designed to allow students to self-assess their own learning progress at the end of each unit.

    Control Tests: A control test is designed to grade students in the middle of their learning process and can act as a guide for the final exam.

    Non-distant final exam. The final paper lasts for one hour at the end of the term. Students are allowed to use study materials during this exam. There are two possible exams per course: in June and September and students can freely choose to take any of them. A grade of Pass is required to obtain the corresponding credits of each course.
